A Day in the Life

You’ll never know where life will take you. Mine has taken me here, to the capital of my country. I don’t have the typical experience in this city like every other tourist. DC is my political playground, and I wouldn’t trade that in for the world.
Most of the pictures you’ll find on this page were taken by me. All the opinions expressed are personal, and do not reflect any individual I work for personally.

Cosmo Magazine

Officially boycotting Cosmo. While I’m all about their tips on fashion, beauty, health and dating, I have a bone to pick with them regarding their last two issues. They’ve had two articles regarding the election. The first compared the candidates, the second bashing things Republican politicians have said regarding women including abortion and birth control. I’m all about voicing or writing about your opinion, but when you are a ‘influential’ media outlet for women, at least write about both sides. Also, why don’t you talk about other issues that are important in this election, such as economic freedom or the trillion dollar debt? Those also hurt women, but apparently you don’t see it that way which is EXTREMELY sad. Not everyone only cares about their body. While reproductive rights are important, many women also cares about their paycheck and future. I’d write a letter to your editor, but I don’t think they would post my moderate opinions in your now apparently VERY liberal magazine. You can count this reader out!

My life is way too short to be sitting here waiting for you to decide what you want to do with me. I have to move on, not just because of you. I have to do it for me. I’m afraid I’ll never heal, but I know one day it will be okay. I’ll be okay.

Sucks to suck, eh?

Sucks to suck, eh?

dreams

I had a dream the other night you came back to life, but you weren’t what I remembered you like. You were still sick, pale, and tired. It felt strange. I was happy for you to be back here with us, but really hurt by how much you were suffering. Now I understand why you had to go, and have a true peace of mind that you are in a better place. Until you come back in my next sleep cycle, I’ll miss you.
